Recognizing Gangnam’s Vision as the Center of K-Beauty Medical Tourism​

On November 14, 2025, HERSHE Plastic Surgery attended the 2025 Gangnam Global Medical Tourism event hosted 

by the Gangnam District Office at the Gangnam Medical Tour Center.

The event featured both the appointment ceremony for new partner institutions 

and the awards ceremony recognizing outstanding institutions in the annual service evaluation, 

providing a meaningful opportunity to gain insight into the current status and future direction of Korea’s medical tourism industry.

Event: 2025 Gangnam Global Medical Tourism – New Partner Institution Appointment Ceremony & Outstanding Service Evaluation Awards

Host: Gangnam District Office

Purpose: Strengthen the global competitiveness of Gangnam's medical tourism industry, Recognize outstanding medical institutions, Appoint new partner institutions

Participants: Medical institutions including plastic surgery clinics, dermatology clinics, dental clinics, tourism-related organizations, and medical tourism professionals.

As Gangnam welcomes one of the highest numbers of international medical tourists each year, 

the district continues to strengthen its role as a global medical hub through various certification programs and collaborative networks among medical institutions.

This event was held as part of those ongoing initiatives.

The event clearly demonstrated why Gangnam continues to be recognized as one of Asia's leading destinations for medical tourism.

During the Outstanding Institution Awards, medical institutions that received high evaluations in areas such as patient safety, 

satisfaction among international patients, and multilingual communication were recognized for their excellence.

Outstanding Institution Service Evaluation

To promote a reliable medical tourism environment, the Gangnam District Office conducted a comprehensive evaluation 

of medical services provided to international patients between September and October 2025.

Evaluation Overview

Evaluation Period: September–October 2025

Evaluation Languages: English and Chinese

Evaluation: 119 Gangnam Medical Tourism Partner Medical Institutions (excluding general hospitals)

Evaluation Criteria: Online customer service, Responses to inquiries through social media, Operation and quality of multilingual websites

Outstanding Institutions (8 Institutions Selected)​

A total of eight medical institutions were recognized, including:

HERSHE Plastic Surgery

Two additional plastic surgery clinics

An ophthalmology clinic

A dermatology clinic

A dental clinic

A urology clinic

A general medical institution

Event Atmosphere​​

The event brought together leading medical institutions across Gangnam, creating an atmosphere 

of active discussion and collaboration regarding the future of the medical tourism industry.

Participants exchanged experiences and explored new opportunities for continued growth and cooperation.

Evaluators personally submitted inquiries in both English and Chinese and carefully assessed response speed, accuracy, and professionalism.
